Dunhuang

Pictured above is the famous Mingsha-shan(Chinese singing mountain), Old writings in China, since 880 A.D., mention a large festival taking place on the booming sand dunes.
	Pictured left are a television screen which was shown to me by the Institute of Desert Research of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (IDRAS). The photographer was Dunhuang television Co. As such large scale action was repeated several times, the sound-producing capabilities of the sand were completely suppressed and killed. We can now record the sound only in a special holding place.
