Mori(Five-Peak mountain)

Aug. 19, 1994

This is a holy place for Kazakstan nomads. We were the first visitors from Japan to the mountain. We could not find this place on the map available in the market. Following maps and GPS (Global Positioning System) values were helpful. As the mountains were too large to take a panoramic-view photograph, the following sketch is presented here to give a view of its landscape. Five beautiful mountains stand in a line. As these mountains have no name, we temporarily called them "Five-peak-Ming-Sha-Shan". A sample of the sand was carried back to my laboratory. The result of the sound-producing test by a shown here exhibits a typical booming-sound curve. As a nomad said: the sound of pushing the sand by hand is just like frogs croaking.
